FAQ

It is our commitment to use natural byproducts and organic waste streams - 2nd/3rd generation biomass that is currently not used but can be reasonably mobilized and made circular. More than 3,000 megatons of residual biomass is generated annually.
That's a great source!
  • Are durable biomaterials chemical resistant? under progress
polypropylene resins, like most polyolens, are highly resistant to solvents and chemicals. The results of extensive laboratory and actual eld installation tests of polypropylene’s chemical resistance are reported in this downloadable PDF which is periodically updated. The chemical resistance data presented in this PDF for a range of over 260 chemicals and substances is based on ASTM D543. For this application, we will be using a PP carrier blended and coupled with biomass. The biomass will be completely encapsuled within the PP carrier. As a matter of fact, whatever works with your current PP grade shall work with our materials as well with regard to chemicals like Alkaline solvents.
  • What is the shelf life of nature2need durable biomaterials?
nature2need durable biomaterials must be stored in dry conditions (closed warehouse) and protected from direct sunlight/UV exposure. Maintain a consistent temperature range between 10°C to 25°C. We recommend using the material within one year of the manufacturing date. Our biomaterials are produced upon customer request, ensuring that any dispatched material from our manufacturing locations is not older than 4 weeks.
  • What is the percentage of biomass used in nature2need durable biomaterials?
nature2need durable biomaterials can be built with up to 50% by weight. For standard parts and solutions, we suggest limiting any biomass content to 30% by weight to ensure a perfect surface finish for molded products and to pass all required Food Contact Safe tests (if required).
  • Do molding parameters for durable biomaterials follow the same guidelines as traditional polymers?
Durable biomaterials require drying in standard drying units prior to processing. Molding parameters are relatively comparable to those for traditional polymers (e.g., PP). We advise to employ lower temperature profiles where possible. We are providing Injection Molding Processing Guides as a support resource for every grade.
  • How do you support material sampling?
During the initial feasibility phase, our customer provides technical requirements, expectations related to the environmental footprint (like carbon footprint and degradability), and, if available, product details and target market information. We identify the appropriate biomaterial grade, biomass blend, target molding process, and the required minimum material quantity for sampling. Once all details are agreed upon, the customer purchases the identified material samples from nature2need (Minimum Order Quantity is 25 kg / 1 bag). nature2need shares Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), Process Guidelines, Packing List and tracking number or ID for the shipment. Upon request, the nature2need technical team offers online support for the sampling process. All materials are delivered in standard colors, which vary depending on the grade and include natural, off-white, or white. Custom coloration to match Pantone colors or provided product samples colors is available, subject to a charge for the color development and adjustment process. • What is the lead time to receive one bag of sample material?
Lead time is 3 - 5 working days to dispatch.
