general description
Bioblend TC15B Biomass Blend is a biopolymer being 70% fossil-based and 30% biobased. The grade is blended with direct 2nd/3rd generation biomass (e.g., bamboo, rice husk, coffee husk, straw, wood poweder, coconut fiber, etc.) and natural, functional mineral fillers. No food or feed crops or products made thereof are used.
Bioblend TC grades are designed to be biodegradable and compostable (microbial and enzymatic degradation) in the targeted disposal environment; they are biodegradable/compostable in soil conditions. The grade offers a significant reduction in carbon footprint compared to traditional fossil-based plastics, the direct biomass fill constitute a more permanent carbon sink of biogenic carbon dioxide.
Bioblend TC grades are used for injection moulding applications where excellent elongation and impact values are required.
The material exhibits excellent impact and high elongation values. Bioblend TC15B offers a good processability. Cycle times can be kept short.
Part wall-thickness shall be greater than 1.8 mm since the melt flow rate / melt flow index is moderate – low.
